Ways to Support the Podcast

Dana’s Sovereign Birth (French Only)

Sharing our stories is one of the most powerful forms of healing… When our voices come together to illuminate coherence, we can carve a new path for all of us, for those who will come after us, and for those who came before… Our healing and liberation ripple outward, facilitating healing and liberation across all directions and dimensions. My liberation is yours; your healing is ours.

In this episode, I have the honor and privilege of sharing Dana’s story, a free birth at home with her fifth child. We discuss her previous hospital births and explore some of the limits and trends observed in midwifery practice in Canada. This episode was recorded about a year before its release. Due to the sensitive topics discussed, we waited before making it publicly available.

Please note: This episode can be confronting at times and explores the many nuances and layers of autonomy and radical sovereignty.

Postpartum Hemorrhage — Part 1 (French Only)

In this episode, we’ll discuss the physiology of the third stage of labor and postpartum hemorrhage in the context of medical interventions. Are postpartum hemorrhages self-fulfilling prophecies?

In this episode of Naître en lumière, we dive into the heart of postpartum hemorrhages, a phenomenon often surrounded by fear and myths. We explore how, when a woman’s body is respected and supported, it usually has all the natural mechanisms to protect against excessive bleeding after birth. I demystify the physiological causes of hemorrhage, explain the crucial role of oxytocin, the hormone of love, and reveal how certain medical interventions, even when well-intentioned, can sometimes disrupt the natural physiology and increase risk.

Moral Courage (French Only)

This episode will focus on moral courage, an essential muscle to cultivate for the unfolding of our Sovereignessence and the healing of birth. Moral courage is the inner strength that drives us to stand up for what is just, true, beautiful, and good, even at the risk of judgment, exclusion, or retaliation, especially when it goes against consensus or established norms.

Among other topics, we will address a critical issue for the physical and emotional health of women seeking care within the medical system. This includes the troubling practice of pelvic exams under anesthesia performed without explicit consent. We will explore the nuances of consent, implicit versus explicit, and discuss the urgent need for cultural change within obstetrics and modern medicine.

Physiological Umbilical Cord Clamping (French Only)

Did you know that cutting the umbilical cord too early deprives the baby of an essential portion of their blood, which is rich in oxygen, iron, white blood cells, and stem cells, and that this practice can be harmful to the baby’s health both in the short and long term? In this episode, I shed light on a still-too-common practice: early cord clamping, which some consider an aberration. We are talking about blood withheld, oxygen cut off, and babies weakened, even though nature has provided everything for a gentle and safe transition.

I explain why waiting for the cord to stop pulsing is not an “alternative” option but a vital necessity. We also discuss resuscitation with the cord intact, a practice that can literally make the difference between life and death and between protected or impaired cognitive abilities.

This is an intense episode, challenging but potentially transformative in the way you see birth forever.

In none of my service offerings do I ensure the safety of the mother or the baby. I do not provide monitoring, nor do I take responsibility for the pregnancy, birth, or postnatal period. I do not offer any medical care or advice, and I do not provide midwifery services. The support I offer is holistic, logistical, symbolic, intuitive, and informative in nature. I encourage you to consult a medical professional according to your needs.
